Are you Ready for Google Analytics 4?

Google Analytics is a tool used to track and measure traffic and performance on your website. A small script is added to your website’s code that collects statistics about visitors which can then be viewed via a Dashboard. Google Analytics is free to use and is set up via your Google account.

On the 1st July 2023 the current Google Analytics, known as Universal Analytics, will stop processing data. From then on you will need to use the Google Analytics 4 (or GA4).

Do I Need to Upgrade to Google Analytics 4?

If you have not already done so and want to keep using Google Analytics then yes.

The new Google Analytics 4 can be set up in your existing account and can work alongside the current Google Analytics. Both versions can collect data at the same time and you can compare statistics between the two. This is what many users have been doing over the last 1-2 years in preparation for when the existing version stops collecting data on 1st July 2023.

If you already use Google Analytics there is a Setup Assistant in your account that will help your create your new Google Analytics 4 property. There are also many guides available online. If you need some help switching over to Google Analytics 4 please contact us.
